I'm Derrick Sakai, and Kokua Media Group is just me. Forty-six years in Kaimuki, Kaimuki High School — still my neighborhood. Kokua means help, and that's the whole job: I get Hawaiʻi's small businesses found online and make it easy for people to reach them. Before this, fourteen years in network and systems engineering — where a small mistake breaks the whole system — taught me to get the details right.
